Tell me about yourself
Hello, I’m Minsung Kim. I recently joined Rutgers and the Computer Science (CS) department. Before joining Rutgers, I was a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. I received my Ph.D. from Princeton University and B.E. from Korea University.
How did you become interested in computer science?
I grew up watching how computers went from being rare to becoming an essential part of our daily lives, resulting in countless improvements. It was so fascinating and naturally sparked my interest in CS.
What are you researching?
My research focuses on quantum and emerging computing systems for next-generation wireless networks. I aim to accelerate wireless processing by leveraging quantum and quantum-inspired computation. As quantum and non-traditional computers (e.g., Ising machines) come to fruition over the next decade and beyond, this will help shape how these computers revolutionize the design of 6G and future wireless systems.
What are you most excited about in joining Rutgers University?
I am very excited to work with my colleagues and students at Rutgers! The CS department is renowned for its top-notch research in all aspects of CS and Rutgers has a world-leading wireless research cluster called WINLAB.
